Alumni Association

Graduates of PRTS are currently serving in a wide variety of roles around the world. Many are serving in traditional pastorates in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere. Others are serving in missionary roles, teaching at other seminaries, or pursuing further education such as a Th.M. or Ph.D. Still others, particularly graduates of the M.A.R. program, have returned to their original career callings.

Due to the ever increasing size of the alumni body, a committee of PRTS graduates has formed to serve as the PRTS Alumni Association. They aim to serve as the liaison between the seminary’s current faculty and staff and the past graduates, offering graduates a link to the seminary for support, aid, and fellowship as needed.

For more information about the Alumni Association, or if you would like to be added to the mailing list for alumni newsletters, please contact Michael Ives, Association Chairman.

Seminary Awareness Week

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37,38

 A Labor of Love

As an alumnus of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary you are a very important part of the history of what God is doing here at PRTS. As you likely know, an addition to the building is taking place that will nearly double our present space. We are looking forward with anticipation to the opening of the addition and also to the new students who will be able to study here because of this expansion.

Our desire is that PRTS would remain faithful to her calling and that that the cause of Christ would be promoted through this institution. To that end, we ask during the week of the PRTS graduation (May 5-11) that participating churches focus on the topic of seminary education and ministerial preparation.

PRTS is asking congregations for:

  • Prayer
  • An increased awareness of the word of PRTS
  • Potential students
  • Financial support

PRTS is willing to supply printed materials, brochures, catalogs and other information.

Sharing the Vision

Our goal is to increase the awareness of the needs for the worldwide church of Jesus Christ and the call she has of promoting the training of men for ministry.

This week would also be a time in which you would be able to . . .

  • answer questions about seminary training,
  • speak to men in your congregation about the possibility of whether or not God is calling them to full time ministry
  • a time in which the congregation can express their gratitude to God for the gift of seminary training.

Laboring in the Work Together

There is also the ongoing needs of the seminary which are not only for prayer but also to raise the necessary financial support that is necessary to continue the operation of the seminary. If your congregation is willing, we are asking that a collection be made towards the building fund. Other ideas for the coming years will include operation costs and scholarship funds.

This year PRTS graduation will be taking place on May 9 at 7:30pm and can be watched live at Sermon Audio. Rev. Ian Hamilton will be delivering the commencement address on Romans 11:33-36.

Spreading the Word

On May 11 we ask that each of the alumni will preach from Matthew 9:37, 38. In doing so the congregation would be uniting with various other churches and denominations around the world crying out to the Lord just as He commanded us to do.
